Key Dates

June 8-23: Participants' registration.

June 23: Registration closing at 09:00 AM EDT, and formation of the tournament grid.

June 23 (Friday): The tournament starts at 7:00 PM EDT (NA bracket) or 17:00 GMT (EU bracket).


Basic Rules

  • Two teams of 2 players compete in a series of 30-second chases 1v1 on the rooftop of a skyscraper.
  • The winner of the chase becomes an evader but no more than twice in a row.
  • The time the evader lasted goes towards their team's score.
  • A player who falls off the skyscraper loses.


We expect all players to act with competitive and personal integrity at all times and to show good sportsmanship, honesty, and fair play.

Code of Conduct

  1. Every participant is expected to behave with respect towards other players, tournament organizers, streamers and game developers. The following principles shall guide your behavior in game and also in Discord, Twitch, and other chats and media:
  2. Respect: Treating others with respect is fundamental. Organizers will not tolerate toxic behavior.
  3. Integrity: Tournament is committed to fair play. These rules provide the bare minimum. Players should hold themselves to a standard of integrity above what these rules require.
  4. JoyWay is against any toxic behavior. It is therefore expected that no tournament participants will engage in any hateful or harassing activities. A non-exhaustive list of prohibited behaviors includes:
  5. Hate speech, offensive behavior, or verbal abuse related to sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, nation, or religion.
  6. Political discussions.
  7. Stalking or intimidation (physically or online).
  8. Spamming, raiding, hijacking, or inciting disruption of streams or social media.
  9. Posting or threatening to post other people's personally identifying information ("doxxing").
  10. Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes unwelcome sexualized comments, jokes, and sexual advances.
  11. Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
  12. Any accusations of improper play or conduct shall be brought directly to tournament organizers. Prohibited behaviors witnessed by organizers could result in punishment.
  13. It shall be a severe rule violation for any team to, jointly or independently, attempt or conduct an act that may manipulate the outcome of a match, series, tournament or other event in a manner that would reasonably be considered unfair or anticompetitive. This includes and is not limited to:
  14. intentionally losing a match
  15. colluding with an opponent secure a match outcome
  16. colluding with an opponent to manipulate placements/standings
  17. engaging in any behavior which interferes with the operation of the tournament or participation of teams
  18. All players are presumed to have read these rules. Ignorance of these rules is not a defense. In some cases, Team Captains may be held responsible for the behavior of members of their team. Therefore, Team Captains should make every effort to ensure that their team members have read and understand these rules. Being a Team Captain is an important responsibility and should not be taken on lightly.

Team/Player Names

  1. Players and teams must play using the player and team names registered for the tournament.
  2. Use of any name which is offensive, vulgar, obscene, racist, inflammatory, sexist, or defamatory is prohibited. This includes names which break the preceding guidelines but use alternative spellings/numbers.
  3. Player names, player logos, team names, and team logos are forbidden if they:
  4. Are protected by copyrights/royalties/third-party rights and the user has no written permission;
  5. Resemble or are identical to a brand/trademark no matter whether it's registered or not;
  6. Resemble or are identical to a real person other than themselves;
  7. Resemble or are identical to the tournament organizers;
  8. Are deemed too hard to read, distinguish, interpret or have multiple unnecessary characters;
  9. Violate the Code of Conduct.
  10. Each team's and each player's name must be sufficiently unique. Minor variation from an existing team or player name (such as replacing a letter for number) is not considered sufficiently unique.
  11. Names should be written in English.
  12. Players are not to falsely represent a team for which they are not a rostered member.
  13. Breach of the forgoing rules is a rule violation.

Cheats, Exploits, and Violations

The following are prohibited gameplay violations:
  1. Direct modification of the game or its code that affects gameplay in any form.
  2. The use of any unapproved third party apps which modify the game in any form.
  3. Deliberately exploiting the game in any way which has an extreme impact on competitive fairness.
  4. Anything which may be considered Hacking, DDOS, or any actions directed toward tournament players aimed at preventing or affecting their participation in a match.
  5. Intentionally or Unintentionally Clipping inside of objects or walls more than 50% may result in round overturns, or match disqualification if repeated multiple times.
  6. Using any form of the in-game height calibration to gain a competitive advantage may result in match forfeit, qualifier forfeit or team disqualification, at the discretion of tournament organizers.
  7. Use of playspace movement to breach map boundaries, or reach spaces that would otherwise be impossible to reach using typical game movement is not permitted and will result in penalties.
  8. Use of any external play space mover or program is prohibited. There are no exceptions to this rule.
  9. Any creative exploit deemed intentional by a referee or tournament lead, even if not covered in the rules may result in round overturns, match forfeits or qualifier disqualifications. It is advised that any potentially exploitable position or technique be disclosed to the tournament organizers before used, and a decision is made on it. Decisions may involve legal use until patched by developers, or immediate ban.

Disciplinary Actions

The disciplinary procedures in these rules serve only as guidance. In extreme cases, Joy Way Officials may exercise discretion to disqualify a player or team from participating in the tournament and/or assign other punishments as appropriate. Decisions made by the Joy Way Officials are final, and not complying or causing match delays on these decisions may result in severe disciplinary actions.

These rules may be amended or supplemented at any time without prior notice at the discretion of Joy Way LTD.
